Good evening! My run for today was broken into two parts - the first part was a traditional six-mile run at an "easy run" pace, but then the second part was one mile of striders. This was new to me as I've never incorporated striders into my training. The workout of striders was eight sprints of 100 meters each, running all out, with a short rest between each set. I'm pretty sure as I go along that I'll be adding more and more striders into my training.
A big shout out goes out to my old boss, John D'Argenio, the Director of Athletics at Siena, for his very generous donation to my 40 miles at 40 years challenge! John has had a tremendous career at Siena and has been a great mentor to me as I was lucky enough to work with him at Siena. Thanks John! Siena has always been a special place for me with so many memories of Siena basketball games growing up, and more recently taking my own family to Siena games at the TU Center!
In recognition of John's donation, and all things Siena, today's photo will be the Siena College logo :)
Today's run - 6 miles, 53:17 (8:52 pace), followed by 8x100 m striders
