This morning Christy and I attended the moving up ceremony for Grace at Glenmont School. We were actually talking on our way to school, that we have not been at an in-person event at school since December of 2019 when Grace had her Winter choir concert. But at least we were able to be there today as Grace starts getting ready for 6th grade and middle school in the Fall.
I took the day off from work so I had plenty of time to get in my run, and around 2 PM I headed over to the rail trail to complete my eight mile run. I started near Slingerlands Elementary School, took the rail trail for a few miles in Delmar, then took Elsmere Ave. up to Fernbank and ran through the roads around Hamagrael School, before working my way back to the rail trail along Cherry Ave. It was about seven miles at that point, so I just finished with a mile on the rail trail.
This weekend's training is a bit different - I don't have one long run on one weekend day, but rather I have a 10 mile run on Saturday, and a 10 mile run on Sunday. It's still a 20 mile weekend which will not be easy, but I'll see how it goes.
On the donation front, I passed the $3,000 mark!! I am now at 75% of my goal, with a total of $3,020 raised for the Circle of Champs program! Thank you to Karen Collen for your recent donation to put me over the $3,000 mark.
Today's run - 8 miles, 1:10:10 (8:45/pace)
Next run - Saturday, 10 miles
